“This is such a wonderful little place to retreat to and just cut off from the everyday hustle and bustle of life! It's just far away from everything, but close enough should you want to go to a store or out and about. It's quiet, relaxing and the scenery is beautiful! Fishing from the pond was a great experience! First time fishing and caught a few fish! Our host Doug was very accommodating and friendly. He made sure we had all we needed and helped make our stay that more pleasurable. We will definitely be back..soon!!!!”

“This is a great place to retreat from the city. I enjoyed the proximity to the lake, the privacy of the cabin and location. It's basic, yet very accommodating. We enjoyed our own fire and our own BBQ grill and as much seclusion as we desired. Doug was very helpful with finding us a good place to put in our kayaks and some good starter destinations to paddle to. He also helped us find our way about the area. I look forward to going back!”

“Rented the cabin over the Easter weekend. The cabin itself was very clean and well maintained. The place was secluded, peaceful and really beautiful. The pond is filled with catfish and the owner gives food. Feeding them is fun. The owner, Doug built a nice fire by the pond in the evenings. He is very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning as it is only a 90 min drive from Houston.”

“I stayed at Catfish Cabins from Oct. 18-20, 2024. The owner, Doug, went out of his way to assist me; I was immobile due to a recent foot surgery. The cabins are great! The lake was great! Thefishing is really good, too. The views are great! The grounds at this little resort are immaculate. I will definitely be staying here again soon. I highly recommend this place.”

“Catfish Cabins was a nice weekend getaway for me and my other half. Really close to Lake Livingston and other places to visit, shop or eat at while your enjoying your stay. There's 3 cabins there so call in advance to book and make sure to keep your booking as Doug the owner really takes care of the place and visitors. The cabins are separated by woods so really you don't see the neighbors. Outside the cabin you have a bench to sit and eat, BBQ cooker, fire pit and patio with ceiling fan to relax. Inside you have ac unit, TV, bed, table, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, cups and linens for the bed and shower. Nice size cabin. There is a nice size lake which is private so no fishing license is needed and I caught a few fish. There is cable TV and no wifi but I did have 1 bar of service on my phone. Nice amount of birds to see and places to walk around the place and a great wooded area all around. Doug also have firewood there for your fire pit, prices for the logs are cheap just ask Doug when you arrive. Enjoyed my time and it was quite plus relaxing.”
